Why Morocco ?

A Symphony of Life

Ani celebrates the soul of her country, where heartbeats resonate in harmony with those of its people. Her paintings are pulsations, heartbeats shared between joy and melancholy, lightness and complexity, light and darkness.

Oil on Canvas · Sahara Desert

In Series 3, she chooses at times to move from abstract to figurative art, at times from acrylic to oil on canvas. This new chapter carries the viewer into another universe: the Sahara dunes. Surfaces of memory and motionless waves that hold the traces and shadows of human passage, then erase them at once. In this almost unreal expanse, the portraits she paints appear vulnerable, slowed, absorbed by air, light, and space. Faced with the immensity of the desert, the human body ceases to be central and becomes a fragile trace in an endless landscape. It is this relationship between the human and the infinite that her paintings seek to explore.

Marrakech Set

This triptych captures the contrasts of the ochre city. Klein and Majorelle blue evokes a haven of calm and contemplation.

Orange reflects the warm light on the ramparts, and Soulages black, dense and subtle, recalls the ancient doors, starry nights, and the mysteries of the Medina.
